Constructed in 1927, Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a large international airport serving Oakland, California and the rest of the East Bay. 

An economic impact report from 2001 found that the airport brought $4.5 billion into the local economy on an annual basis. Additionally, the airport generates 5,500 local jobs including those that provide services such as in the visitor/tourism industry: hotel staff, taxi and charter bus drivers and tour guides.
